Care
To ensure your down-filled item lasts a long time and stays in pristine condition, professional dry cleaning is the best option. However, if you prefer to wash it yourself, you can certainly do so—just be sure to follow a few key rules:
- Before washing, fasten all closures (zippers, buttons, snaps, etc.)
- Use only a liquid detergent designed for delicate fabrics
- Place at least 5 tennis balls into the washing machine drum
- They will help keep the down filling evenly distributed
- Dry the item laid out flat, turning it over periodically until it is completely dry
- Once dry, use your hands or a wooden ruler to fluff and redistribute the down so that it is spread evenly throughout the garment
- Minor stains or spots can often be easily removed with a simple damp cloth, without the need for a full wash
