Why It Matters to Us

Polka dot isn't about retro. Nor is it about romanticizing silhouette. It's about rhythm. About a repetition that disciplines the plane. About order without rigidity. An antidote to chaos in a world of oversize.

The print takes its name from the polka — a fast, geometric dance. In the 19th century, an even repeat on fabric was a technical breakthrough. But more importantly, fabric began to read as structure. The dot sets the tempo. And it sets the limit.

How We Worked With Scale
