All types of denim fabric contain cotton – natural fibers obtained from the cotton plant. Yarn with long, uniform fibers is used to produce denim. The finished threads are obtained by twisting – they are used for both the warp and the weft. To produce a durable denim fabric, twill weave is used – the fabric comes out with a distinct diagonal-rib texture. A characteristic feature of denim fabric is its special type of dyeing. Not all threads are dyed, only the warp threads. On the reverse side, the material looks much paler. Cotton fabrics are known for their strength and reliability.

Characteristics:

• Durability and versatility;

• Hygroscopicity – absorbs moisture well;

• The fabric «breathes» – the fibers let air through well, but protect from wind;

• Does not build up static and does not let dust through;

• Versatility.

Care:

• Denim items are washed separately from other fabrics;

• Turn garments inside out and close all fastenings (zippers, buttons, snaps);

• It's better to avoid bleach, as it may leave stains and streaks;

• Denim fabrics should not be wrung out too hard – it's better to let the water drain on its own;

• Due to its stiffness, denim holds its shape well and items barely need ironing – they smooth out on the body;

• If ironing is needed, iron the items slightly damp – they will become softer;

• Use water no warmer than 40° (for black fabrics – no more than 30°), otherwise the material may fade or lose its shape;

• Due to the use of natural dyes and the absence of a boiling-out process, pre-washing with a splash of vinegar is recommended to avoid transferring dye to skin and linens.
